Ski Record Smashed

145 water skiers have been towed into the record books on Tasmania's West Coast at Strahan this morning.

A large boat used two 45 metre booms and 9 kilometres of ropes to tow the skiers one nautical mile, the effort eclipsing the previous world record of 114.

Nic Wilson from the World Record Waterski team says it follows an unsuccessful Australia Day attempt.
